Inglis and Yankeetown, Florida
Tucked away just a few minutes
north of Crystal River, is a quiet, untouched, nature lover’s

With the Withlacoochee River just minutes away from you

several other lakes and rivers, water fun is a guaranteed
winner with every one. Rent a boat, canoe, or kayak and
make your way down any river. Put a jet ski in at the nearest
lake and enjoy a day on the water with some friends. If
you are interested is some great salt-water fishing, make
some time to head towards the Gulf of Mexico. Here you have
your choice of redfish, shark, flounder, grouper, and many
more species of fish to please any angler. And if you think

Inglis and Yankeetown is also
home to the Marjorie Harris Carr Cross Florida Greenway.
Formally one of the biggest public works projects in Florida,
the land adjacent to the Cross Florida Barge Canal has been
transformed into a crucial Florida greenway. This 110 mile
corridor connects a wide variety of natural habitats from
the Gulf of Mexico to the St. Johns River. This premier
greenway offers many trails and recreational areas where
visitors can experience the wonders of Florida’s Nature
Coast.

famous for is the filming of “Follow that Dream.” The 1961
film starred Elvis Presley and was filmed right in the heart

along with books and commentary about the movie and it’s
filming.

Right down the road, is the
Izaak Walton Lodge. This famous lodge and restaurant were
named after Izaak Walton the English biographer and author.
