Your chance of seeing these passive and peaceful creatures increases around the months of October-March as they migrate up into the warmer spring fed waters of the Homosassa River.

You can also take the family to Homosassa Springs State Wildlife Park. Here you can see bears, deer, alligators, native Florida panthers, otters, flamingos and even a hippo named Lucifer. The Park is home to the “fish bowl”, a large glass tank with step leading down underwater. The difference here is that you are on the inside nice and dry and the manatee and native fish are swimming all around you outside.

One of the most popular destinations in Homosassa for both locals and visitors is Mac Raes and the Homosassa Riverside Resort.
